I have to hand it to the Red Cross: setting up a system where you text the word “HAITI” to 90999 to send them $10 worked for me. It made it very easy, and so I did it. I guess in some ways, that’s fairly despicable; if you want to send help, you shouldn’t be put off by the possibility of needing to call someone and fish out a credit card, or log into a website and go through a similar process. But making it easier is very smart, and that was about the easiest donation I’ve ever done. They text you back a confirmation, and you text them back “YES”, and it’s done. Very easy.
